A Bittersweet Story...

Last Summer, I met Michele (Young) Snodgrass... She was worried about a Loom that had been in her Family since 1934... Her Grandmother,  Mrs. Esther Byrd Young bought this Loom brand new from Union Works Loom Company, Inc. Boonville, N. Y.  in 1934-35. She lived in Ohio and the rugs that were woven on this loom provided food & shelter for a family of 6... Mrs. Byrd Young used this loom until 1999... After Mrs. Young's death, her grand daughter Michele (Young) Snodgrass acquired it. Her other family members showed no interest in owning it... So with her husbands help, they placed the Loom in a room in their Barn, where it would sit until Michele could learn how to weave... and years later when they downsized, hopefully for good, she was hopeful again... But failing health issues with both her husband and son, has required another move, this time out of state, and has forced her to find the Loom a new home... This morning, my youngest son Sean, Travis Ervin and I, met "Cindy Bee" and we went and picked up the Loom, as a very emotional Michele said goodbye to a Family Heirloom... I gave her a hug and promised to honor, use and give a new home to the loom in "The Bittersweet Cabin"... I will use it to teach and pass on an old tradition of our forefathers & mothers... Thank you so much Michele...

Umm, you left out the part where I almost had a Dodge slap-down with the cry-baby. And really....how many years do you think it sat in that garage/barn/whatev you want to call it....rusting away? There are people in this town, whom she met, that would have given her free lessons. I must be hormonal. For real. Kinda feels good though. To have hormones again. I hope they stay! You don't have to post this comment if you don't want too ya bittersweet gal. I'll be nice....I promise...from this point on.
